NC Lt. Governor to Address More Than 2,000 Early Childhood Professionals

President of American Academy of Pediatrics Among Other Speakers at 8th Annual Smart Start Conference to be Held May 6 through 8

Raleigh, NC – North Carolina Lieutenant Governor Walter Dalton will kick-off the 8th annual National Smart Start Conference to be held in Greensboro from May 6 through May 8. He will be addressing attendees at the Opening Session on Wednesday, May 6th at 10 AM.

Nearly 2,000 people from more than 40 states and the District of Columbia will participate in the National Smart Start Conference. The conference takes place May 6 through May 8 at the Koury Convention Center in Greensboro, and is the largest national conference devoted to exchanging ideas about early education systems and strategies. This year’s conference features a 244 sessions, including a special track for pediatricians to receive continuing medical education credits.

In addition to Lt. Governor Dalton, the conference will feature the following keynote speakers:

Stephanie Fanjul, president of The North Carolina Partnership for Children, Inc., the organization that leads Smart Start, will make remarks at both events.
