Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes. Whether you make a gift to your local Smart Start partnership or to The North Carolina Partnership for Children, Inc., your contribution is tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law. Every Smart Start partnership is a 501(c)(3) private nonprofit organization.
Is it better to give to my local partnership or to the NC Partnership for Children?
Either choice is a good one, because both will help North Carolina children.
Aren't my tax dollars enough to make sure that children are ready for school?
Not nearly enough! Smart Start has put to work for children more than $200 million in private donations from businesses, foundations and individuals.
